DAY 1
Senaru Village (Jebak Gawah) → Post 3 Senaru → Senaru Crater Rim

Your Rinjani adventure starts from the lush side of the mountain. Day 1 is about warming up through rainforest, waterfalls, and steady climbing, ending with an unforgettable sunset over the crater lake from Senaru Crater Rim. Total trekking time: ∼6-7 hours.

Detailed itinerary
Meet your guide and porters in Senaru Village. After registration at Rinjani National Park office in Jebak Gawah, we’ll do a short briefing, gear check, and start trekking,The trail begins with an easy walk through local farms and coffee plantations.

08:30 AM – Post 1 to Post 2: Rainforest Trail
Enter the tropical rainforest. The path is well shaded with big trees, ferns, and the sound of birds. Keep an eye out for monkeys and black ebony trees,This section is mostly flat with gentle inclines – perfect to find your trekking rhythm.


11:00 AM – Post 3 Senaru: Lunch Break
Arrive at Post 3 at 1,500m. This is the last water source before Crater Rim.
Rest and enjoy lunch cooked by your team. Refill water here. Toilets are available.


12:30 PM – Post 3 to Senaru Crater Rim: The Big Climb
Now the real ascent begins. 2.5 to 3 hours of steady uphill through open forest and exposed slopes. It’s challenging but the views keep getting better,You’ll pass small viewpoints where you can see Senaru Village and the north coast below.


03:30 PM – Arrive: Senaru Crater Rim Camp 2,641m
Check-in to your camp on the crater rim. The view is insane: Lake Segara Anak, Mount Barujari, and all of Lombok island spread out below,Your team will set up tents, prepare hot drinks, and cook dinner.

06:00 PM – Sunset + Dinner
Watch the sunset over the crater and Lake Segara Anak. After dinner, you can relax in your tent or sit by the camp to stargaze,It gets cold at night, 10-15°C, so warm clothes are a must.

Distance: ∼7 km
Elevation Gain: From 601m to 2,641m
Difficulty: Moderate. Steep climb in the afternoon
Day 2
Route: Senaru Crater Rim → Post 3 Senaru → Senaru Village

Day 2 is all about the descent. Wake up for sunrise over the crater, then trek back down through the rainforest to Senaru Village. It’s shorter but steep in parts. Total trekking time: ∼5-6 hours

Detailed Itinerary
Wake up early for the highlight of the trip. Short 10 min walk to the viewpoint,Watch the sunrise light up Lake Segara Anak, Mount Barujari, and all the way to Bali and Sumbawa. It’s cold, so bring your jacket and hot tea from the crew


07:00 AM – Breakfast at Camp
Back to camp for warm breakfast. Pack your bags while the porters take down the tents. Enjoy one last view of the crater before we leave.


08:00 AM – Senaru Crater Rim to Post 3 Senaru
Start descending. The trail down is steep and slippery in some parts, so trekking poles really help, It takes about 2 hours to reach Post 3 at 1,500m. Quick break here to refill water and use the toilet. Last chance to see the forest from above.


10:30 AM – Post 3 to Senaru Village (Jebak Gawah)
Continue down through dense rainforest. The path gets easier and flatter as we pass Post 2 and Post 1, Listen for monkeys and birds. You’ll start seeing farms and coffee plantations again as we get closer to the village.


12:30 PM – Arrive: Senaru Village (Jebak Gawah)
Trek finished! Meet your driver at the Rinjani National Park office, Certificates will be given here. You can change clothes, have a warm shower at the homestay, and lunch provide on the way down and Transfer back to your hotel in Senaru, Senggigi, or Lombok Airport.

Distance: ∼7 km downhill
Elevation Loss: From 2,641m to 601m
Difficulty: Moderate. Knees will feel it on the steep parts

  • Scenic views : breathtaking views of the crater lake and surrounding landscapes
  • Relatively easy trails : well marked trails and moderate difficulty level
  • Cultural experience : immerse yourself in local culture and traditions
  • Acclimatize : spend a day in Senaru village before you start the Trekk to Acclimatize to the attitude
  • Pack light : Bring essentials like hiking boots, trekking poles,rain coat,warm jacket, head lamp,long pants and all personal use,if you don’t have the trekking gears you can rent it with your Trekk operator
  • Stay hydrated : Drink plenty of water throughout the trek
  • Listen to your guide : this the most important thing during your Trekk to follow your guides instructions and pace yourself
